Back 2 Work wouldn’t be possible without our incredible subcontractors across the state, who operate transitional work crews on our behalf! They play a vital role as the employer of record for our participants, while also providing essential supportive services and job readiness training. Their efforts help fulfill the ABCs of our program: getting participants A job, helping them find a Better job, and ultimately guiding them toward a Career. Together, we create opportunities and move the needle forward for those who face significant challenges.
hOW TO bECOME A sUBCONTRACTOR

To partner with us as a subcontractor, organizations must complete a thorough vetting process. This ensures alignment with our program’s mission and the ability to effectively serve the communities we support. Additionally, prospective subcontractors must demonstrate the capacity and qualifications necessary to successfully fulfill the requirements of our Caltrans contract.

Center for Employment Opportunities

Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides immediate, effective, and comprehensive employment services exclusively to people recently released from incarceration. “Our vision is that anyone with a recent criminal history who wants to work has the preparation and support needed to find a job and stay connected to the labor force. Our program consists of providing participants with immediate employment with daily pay, skills training, job placement, and ongoing career support. Great Valley Conservation Corps

The Greater Valley Conservation Corps (GVCC) helps youth 18 to 26 with academic instruction, employment opportunities, green job training, life skills, and much more! GVCC believes that by empowering young adults to learn valuable skills and by empowering organizations to make informed and environmentally responsible decisions, we provide a solid foundation for vibrant communities to grow. Conversation Corps of Long Beach

The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) handles projects ranging from recycling to ensuring trees are nourished and even learning core construction skills and using power tools. “Workforce development through environmental projects and education opportunities are the two essential aspects of our program.” CCLB is positioned to offer its Corpsmembers access to various environmental work experiences while facilitating personal development opportunities. Restore Merced

Restore Merced creates opportunities for people to move from instability to stability by embracing God’s story of transformation. “We offer transitional employment, coaching, and life skills training to individuals with barriers to employment. Community Service Employment Training

Community Services Employment Training (CSET) is a non-profit agency determined to fight the war on poverty by assisting individuals and communities in achieving self-reliance. CSET reveals the greatness in everyone by providing education and training, facilitating youth and community development, and creating jobs and resources. “Our purpose is to reduce the causes of poverty. Urban Corps

Urban Corps of San Diego County is a certified local conservation corps whose mission is to provide young adults ages 18-26 with the tools to expand their career opportunities through education, life skills training, and paid work experience on projects that benefit our communities. “We provide paid job training, support services, and a second chance to earn a high school diploma while offering various professional services to the San Diego community.” For more information: https://urbancorpssd.org/

Los Angeles Conservation Corps

The Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) creates equitable opportunities for young people to build resilience in themselves, their communities, and the environment through a program of work, education, and support. Five Keys Schools and Programs

Five Keys Schools and Programs invest in individuals living on the margins so they can change their lives. Using social and restorative justice principles, Five Keys provides traditionally underserved communities with the opportunity to improve their lives by focusing on the Five Keys: Education, Employment, Recovery, Family, and Community. Throughout 14 counties, Five Keys offers high school education, vocational skills, life skills classes, and access to college and workforce programs regardless of background or circumstance.
